N.O.M.A.D.
N.O.M.A.D. is an invitation to join a worldwide healing art movement. We are taking a stand against depression on a massive scale by providing support, information, tools, and spreading out the message for those who have a hard time asking for help. We are inviting you to be YOU, deeply and truthfully YOU, and take an active roll on your own transformation and the transformation of the world through you, through pro-positive and loving actions, and more specifically through ARTS. We stand strongly against the normalization of depression and its treatment as just another medical illness.
Depression is very commonly misunderstood and there are many misconceptions around it.
At N.O.M.A.D. we believe being depressed is not a "normal" symptom of our troubled society. it is not merely an isolated disease or chemical unbalance you must live with, and in most cases it does not really get better with pharmaceutics and modern medical treatments. That being said, we believe depression comes from a different-than-average sensitivity, and it is a sign that something is off and should be addressed, but it is related also to our spirit and not only to our body, so there is much more to it than what is addressed by the mainstream "mental health" approach, so we are part of the greater movement that is changing that and normalizing "Higher Self Care" and making it available to anyone.

We believe in the power of DEEP Self-healing through reconnection with your-Self, with your sense of Community, and with Nature as whole, expanding our Collective and Planetary Consciousness.
Our call is to come out and express your true Self, embrace what makes you so uniquely YOU, and immerse yourself in artistic, natural, inspiring, communal experiences to change your perception of things, and find your own path, follow your own flow to healing and thriving, and rising together in greater manifestations and co-creations, create and link new and okd circles around regeneration and harmony with Nature.
CHEERS to realizing there is NO REASON FOR HOLDING BACK! You are who you are, and you are what you are (spirit, not only flesh). So if this conversation means anything to you, you probably feel this same calling... WELCOME to your new online Haven.
We need to OWN OUR POWER, and realize that even in the midst of chaos and grief, we can aim to feel good and do good while being in harmony with life (and death) in this planet, and healing all of our relationships and the way we interact with the manifested reality around us.
Be always ready to learn and evolve. We are all here to learn and grow, and to share the ride. It will always be better together.
We believe in conscious integrative circles and the expansion of collective and planetary consciousness (I like to call this Planet-therapy in case you see that tag around).
And, we are just getting started, trying to organize live events and retreats, as well as online programs, podcasts, videos, and we are even working on the idea for a N.O.M.A.A.D. App! (all starting from scratch, so be patient, and support our dreams!).

The importance of self-change in Self-therapy
Our approach to Self-therapy is based on what Tom Rusk called "guided self-change". Rusk is a psychiatrist that stopped practicing psychotherapy in order to be what he calls a "coach of change". He believed that psychological healing did not ever belong in the realm of medicine and he felt as a psychological counselor that all counseling should focus on helping us learn to change and improve our relationships with ourselves and others.

About Art-Movement-Therapy (AMT) and Self-Therapy
Art-Movement-Therapy or AMT is a collective international movement and a form of therapy that promotes the wellness of individuals and their society by generating pro-positive artistic expressions and actions in order to help in individual or social healing processes.
Because we believe that everyone benefits from the well-being of others and the more people promote this idea the better, we start by inviting everyone to switch from survival mode to help mode by simply observing where you are at right now and reaching out for help if you need help or see how you can help others in your family, surroundings, or community.
The concept of Art-Movement-Therapy (AMT) brings together two basic principles, the integration of the creative process and active art-making in medical and psychological treatments (Art Therapy) and the conviction that we all have the power of healing, so even when we don´t have the resources or access to any specific type of therapy we should all consider the possibility of healing ourselves (Self Healing). So the movement is about creating more uplifting art and bring it into the lives of everyone around, generating a positive force to fight depression and apathy across the globe, and help change and adaptation to new paradigms.
Now, Self-healing, as defined by The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, refers to the process of recovery (generally from psychological disturbances, trauma, etc.), “motivated by and directed by the patient, guided often only by instinct.” But even considering the amateur nature of this process, the value of self-healing lies in its ability to be tailored to the unique experience and requirements of the individual. Further yet, this process can be helped and accelerated with different techniques and practices, that we can integrate in our very own custom designed Self-Therapy. The main idea is: you can do this yourself.
No one can know what you need more precisely than yourself, and no source of wisdom or knowledge from outside yourself will ever be greater than what you can gather from your own spirit. So more than any teacher, any therapist, any coach, or any guru, you must turn back to yourself to determine what you really need to thrive.
This is where Art-Movement-Therapy comes into the scene.
We are proposing, at the same time, a massive art movement against depression and against the detriment of our humanity on one side, and on the other side the expansion of the perception that healing is possible for anybody and can be facilitated by ourselves by designing our very own self-therapy through reconnecting with different forms of expression of our spirit. You can get started by doing simple adjustments in your life like picking up your drawing, your writing, your dance, your singing, your kung-fu practice, whichever artistic expression your heart is calling you to pick up, or even just get surrounded by arts, check out the latest exhibitions you could be interested in, look up free outdoor concerts in your city or town or area, ask out or join a friend in an artistic adventure or join a craft group or start your own side project or get back to old art projects in your home etc... The possibilities are endless. And this is just the beginning. From the moment you make up your mind and resolve to make the adjustments you need to change your mood, life, or vision, things will start falling into place and signs will be revealed to you in a much clearer way to follow your path into a greater consciousness and not only make the situation better for you but also for the people around you.

As you have probably read before we believe in massive reach and free information. We believe there are millions of people with the same mindset of reaching out and helping others for free just because anything and everything is better the more we're ALL alright.
With all the duality, division and distraction in today's web browsing and social media it is hard to keep the focus on things that really matter and that relate to the wellness of not only ourselves but our planet, so a very important anchor for the Art-Movement-Therapy and N.O.M.A.D. is building a real network of people that share this vision of a healthier planet.
